Elif Yalvaç's debut EP out on July 6
I am dedicating these clouds to my father who passed away on July 6, 3 years ago.
Each piece in CloudScapes is named after a rare cloud in an attempt to associate them with sounds through utilization of synthesis techniques including pulsar synthesis--as coined by Curtis Roads--and cross synthesis as well as filtering and feedback, while a good number of field recordings are employed.
CloudScapes EP marks a span of more than 4 years of field recordings and sound design as well as guitar playing, while its main composition and finalization are products of January 2015 through May 2016.
CloudScapes EP is composed, recorded, mixed and produced by Hazal Elif Yalvaç, who also completed mastering of this EP through supports from Ozan Sarıer, Metehan Köktürk and Onur Güngör
Elif Yalvaç composes electronic music and studies Sonic Arts (MA) at Istanbul Technical University.
